Chill Web Games is an independent games website based in Hoyerswerda, Saxony, Germany. It is run by Luca Cataldo and is not part of a large portal, an affiliate network or a collection of embedded third-party content. The games on this site are built for it and run on our own infrastructure.
Browser games have largely turned into advertising surfaces: a loading bar before the game, two pop-ups at start, a countdown before you can play, and recommendations for ten more games in between. If all you want is one round of Snake or Sudoku, you click through an obstacle course that has nothing to do with the game itself.
Chill Web Games is an attempt to build the opposite: open the page, pick a game, play. No download, no sign-up, no account, no queue before the first move.
The catalogue currently holds 27 titles, ranging from classics such as Sudoku, Snake, 2048, Connect Four and Tetris variants to original ideas like MixLab, HoleGame, PixelAnts, CapyDefense and TopDown Royale. Most games run as standalone applications behind the domain and are served through a reverse proxy at /g/<name>/; scores and settings stay in your browser.
New titles are added irregularly — usually when a mechanic is finished that is worth publishing. There is no editorial calendar and no release schedule. The site is small enough that a game only goes live once it is actually playable.
There are no analytics services such as Google Analytics or Matomo, no ad pop-ups before a game starts and no sharing of gameplay data with third parties. No account is required for any game; if you like, you can install the site as an app on your home screen and play offline.
Advertising is only loaded after you explicitly consent via the cookie banner — without consent, no ad script is loaded at all. Details are in the privacy policy (/privacy).
Hosting, domain and development cost money. That is covered by advertising that only loads after your consent, and by the apps released for individual games. There is no paywall, no subscription and no paid extra content — every game on this site is fully playable for free.
Found a bug, have a suggestion, or a privacy question? The fastest way is the contact form (/contact) or an email to [email protected]. Bug reports including browser and device help the most — that usually makes a problem quick to reproduce.
